Our Process

The deck cleaning and staining process:

Day #1

  • Apply environmentally friendly chemical cleaning solution to the deck/outdoor wood which is to be restored.
  • Allow the chemicals to break down the existing stain and kill the mold and mildew
  • Use a pressure washer at low pressure, but high flow to remove the chemicals and grey wood fibers
  • Rinse the deck/outdoor wood
  • Apply chemicals to brighten and neutralize the striping chemicals (if necessary)
  • Rinse again
  • Clean up

Day #2

  • Occurs after 24-48 hours as we need the deck/outdoor wood to dry completely in order for the new stain to be absorbed (if it rains we must wait until the wood is completely dry)
  • Remove contaminants from the deck /outdoor wood to allow the stain to penetrate into the wood. This is usually done with a leaf blower.
  • Apply the stain via brush unless the area cannot be reached by a brush. If this is the case we will use a sprayer.
  • Clean up and removal up tarps, stain cans, and trash.

We recommend using TWP stains, but have the flexibility to use tinted stains as well.

It may be necessary to recoat the horizontal surfaces in case of an unexpected rain. As this usually happens 1-2 times per season. We monitor the weather hour by hour and day by day to guard against this situation, but mother nature will determine if it rains, not the local weatherman.

Pavers, Cement, & Stamped Concrete Process

Step #1

  • Apply chemical cleaning solution to the pavers, cement, or stamped concrete.
  • Allow the chemicals to break down the existing sealer and kill the mold and mildew
  • Use a pressure washer at low pressure, but high flow to remove the chemicals, dirt, and oil.
  • Rinse the area
  • Rinse again
  • Clean up

Step #2

  • Occurs once there is no standing water on the surface.
  • Remove contaminants from the area to allow the sealer to form a protective bond and since it sits on top of the area we don’t want any debris to settle and become trapped in the membrane. This is usually done with a leaf blower.
  • Apply the stain via rollers, or sprayer as most brushes will leave a bristle trail.
  • Clean up and removal up tarps, stain cans, and trash.

We recommend using Super Diamond Clear sealer, but we have the flexibility to use tinted stains as well to make your outdoor cement more appealing.
